On front of document: “Waterloo 10mo 12th 1831 Esteemed Friends E G Faile & Co the note turned out by Lee & Chamberlain for their a/c is not yet due and of course is not paid, but I have no doubt will be paid when due. I have sent the amt by E P Quinby, for fear I should not have an opportunity after it was paid If if should happen that it is not collected you can refund the money to me and will of course do it. The amt is $186 67/100 please send a recpt for it pr Quinby and oblige Your friend R P Hunt” On back of document: "Copy of a Letter to E.G. Faile & Co. 10mo 12th 1831"
