A lithograph shows the fort to the right, surrounding buildings and orchards, and Mount Hood in the background.
Fort Vancouver. This lithograph of the 1854 fort landscape was created by Gustav Sohon. Hudson's Bay Company developments are predominately located to the right and in the foreground, while later U.S. Army developments can be seen on the upper terrace (upper left). The U.S. Army Vancouver Barracks served as training grounds for military leaders between 1849 and 1946.
