26 Hereford Square Sunday 20th My dear Mary – going up your stairs had exhausted me so much yesterday that I found the heat of the drawing room to much for me & was obliged to beat a hasty retreat which I was very sorry for will [p. 2] you excuse me to your nieces for having left there so abruptly – How like the one who spoke to me is to her father & the other to her mother – the movement with which the latter rose & came forward was so like your sister that it has recurred to me [p. 3] repeatedly – Dear Mary tho’ I see you so seldom I do not forget the old Lenox days any more than you do I believe – always affectionately yours F. A. Kemble
