Dear Dr. Martin:
The full citation for pages 49-50 of the General Laws of Indiana of 1885 is Laws of the State of Indiana, Fifty-Fourth Regular Session, William B. Burford, Contractor for State Printing and Binding, 1885 (Chapter XXVI, Approved March 5, 1885, Section 2, Item Fourteenth).
I could not find the citation regarding a commission report of 1885, however I know of two persons working on similar projects that you may wish to contact:
Mr. Thurmond DeMoss, Monroe & Water Streets, Franklin, Indiana 46131 and William H. Hendley 2406 Appleton Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. I spoke to William Hendley yesterday and he expressed a sincere and enthusiastic desire to share with you his knowledge regarding Indiana monuments at Gettysburg.
If the Indiana State Archives can be of any further help, please do not fail to contact us.
Sincerely,
[signature]
