Fanny Longfellow to Mary Ann Palfrey, 14 October 1843
Manuscript letter
Dear Mrs Palfrey,
I hope Mr Longfellow thanked you with most friendly emphasis for the beautiful cushion you sent me, but I can no longer refrain from expressing my own sense of the very graceful manner in which it was presented. It will greatly adorn my room, & I fully appreciate the taste which constructed it as well as the kindness which prompted the gift.
[p. 2] I hope you are all enjoying, as I am, this beautiful weather which seems a kind of transfigured summer –
With kind remembrance to the young ladies believe me
sincerely yours
Fanny E. Longfellow.
