Boys swimming in Pawtucket Canal above Railroad Bridge and Across from Wilson's Coal Yard, Aug. 24, 1939
A photo showing boys on a jumping platform over the canal.
The boys’ jumping platform was built on the ramp that led from Broadway St just below Guard Locks down to the canal. It allowed easy canal access for workers and equipment and provided a shallow area (downstream to the left of the photo) where a swimmer could easily climb out of the water.
