Emily Thorpe - Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument
A young woman with glasses kneels next to two large fossils in a laboratory.
GIP intern Emily Thorpe posed with the two counterparts of the lower half of an early Permian synapsid reptile. This fossil is the first vertebrate specimen discovered in the Yeso Group (Arroyo de Alamillo Formation).
