Recording the Prints

Multiple researchers kneeling over a site plot and using tools to reveal the footprints fossilized in the gypsum sand.

Multiple techniques were used during the excavation of the fossilized footprints due to the varying environmental conditions. Often, researchers used brushes to carefully reveal the full impression of the footprints in the sediment.
