83rd Regiment, New York Infantry
Erected by surviving comrades of the 83rd New York Volunteers to the memory of those fallen and to their Colonel, Joseph Moesch, on whose grave this monument rests. Moesch died in battle during the Wilderness campaign. || 6'H Mn in National Cemetery w/ 48"Lx48"Wx9"H rough-cut, tooled edge base, monlithic shaft tapering to pyramidal top w/ rough-cut banding. Polished faces w/ raised lettering. Circular bronze plaque at W w/ Regiment & Corps insignia.
