Lotus seed pods sit in frozen water. After a spring and summer bloom, the lotus flower dries up and drops its seed pods below into the ponds. Seeds are dispersed and will stay dormant until temperatures rise and it's time again to sprout and bloom into the Beautiful Lotus Flower.
