Respected Friends Almy, Patterson & Co
Your favor of the First is rec’d I wrote you yesterday on the subject of [Money?] & Cotton Sheet I have no objection to running the Mill on joint account with you each expecting ourselves to do the best we can for the joint interest, believing you can buy on [cheap?] & get as much as anyone can for the goods. Also an important part is to get the funds at a low rate of Interest which I trust we can do. I do not know that the goods can be made for the [sum?] you [illegible] but will try and make them as cheap as we can but would [not?] like to make them at our stipulated price. We will have to take an inventory of Yarns, Cotton and in process of Manufacturing before we commence on this arrangement. The Cotton has not yet come to hand & we are entirely out, it will be necessary to [secure?] about 14 Bales of Cotton early next week It will be wanted the last of the week, or the 14 Bales will be worked up then when Cotton gets down to it lowest point it will be best to make a large purchase.
W Whiteman has not been here. Respectfully your friend R P Hunt”
