On front of document: “Waterloo 5 mo 7 th 1824 Respected Friend Adee & Simpson I find on examining my Bills bot of you that I have paid you for the two pieces of Linen which proved to be damaged and which Wm Simpson told me you would deduct (that is take it off of my Bill) but when I came to Settle my Bill He and Myself both forgot to deduct the 2 pieces which I left in your Cellar according to agreement. They were Bot. 4mo 23 rd No 2 2 pieces 25 Yds @ 31 c making $7.75/100 which I wish you to pay to D.W. Townsend for me and oblige Your Friend R.P. Hunt Copy Waterloo 5- 7th 1824 Respected Friends Pattison & Hart I requested you to Send on my goods by Dows Line of boats Imediately if they are not yet sent the bearer Richard Townsend formerly a clerk to me will probably find some boat in Albany or Troy belonging to this place which if he does I wish you to send my goods as he may direct should he not find a boat coming out imediately then I wish you to forward my goods by the first oportunity as they are very much wanted and it is important to have them Imediately I remain your friend R.P. Hunt NB I hope they have been shiped before this time.” On back of document: "Waterloo 5mo 7th 1824 Respected friend D. Merritt & Son I have just returned Home and find my boy have bot about 400 Bus Wheat while I was in N York. I wish you to send a boat and take one Load of Wheat out of my Store as I am very much in want of room and then I shall be able to take in more wheat if offered but if you do not take a load away I cannot take any more in Store for you at present. [at all?] events if you can possibly take a Load away it will accomodate me very much for the above mention wheat I should like to draw on S. Willets if agreable to you at 30 days as I have a payment to make about that time you will please advise me concerning the above as soon as convenient I remain your friend R.P.
