Monument contributes to nat'l significance of park under NR Criterion A because it represents the national movement among veterans & related groups to commemorate Civil War battlefields. || 12' polished granite obelisk on 6'8" square rock-faced base. Pedestal features acorn carved in relief; shaft has raised lettering front and bronze tablet rear, set off by moldings of bundled fasces.
