August 20, 1927.
Mr. E. E. Davis,
Supt. Gettysburg Nat. Military Park,
Gettysburg, Pa.
My dear Sir:
Yours of the nineteenth has been received. It is of the greatest assistance to have a copy of the regulations in reference to markers, monuments and tablets in hand.
I do hope that there will be no discussion in regard to the place selected on West Confederate Avenue, and that this site will be acceptable to the entire Commission.
I greatly appreciate your many kindnesses to Mrs. Long and myself while we were in Gettysburg, and I have every reason to believe that as soon as we can have a meeting of the Commission things will progress quickly and favorably.
I hope that your health is improving daily, and that you will very soon be as strong as possible.
With many thanks, I am
Cordially yours,
Mrs L. B. Newell
