Morse Gold Medal National Sculpture Society – Herbert Adams Memorial Gold Medal Gold Plate Award – American Academy of Achievements Citation – United Daughters of the Confederacy The Whistlers Society Award – For Outstanding Merit in the field of Sculpture Executed Commissions: Donald De Lue has executed some of the most important sculptural commissions in the United States and abroad. Among them are the following: “The Rocket Thrower”, one of the largest bronze statues ever made – Theme sculpture in Brozne for World’s Fair 1964-1965, New York. Male figure with Rocket and Stars, 45 feet high, Rocket in nickel bronze, stars mercury gold; located on Main Mall, Plaza of Astronauts, adjacent to the Unisphere. Permanent installation for the park to follow the Fair. Figure reproduced on the World’s Fair Federal Stamp. Boy Scout Memorial Tribute – three figured group: two adult figures, man and female, 12 feet high; Boy Scout figure 8 feet 6 inches high, Bronze, located on the Ellipse between the Washington Monument and The White House, Washington, D.C. Large marble pool and fountain. Confederate Memorial, Gettysburg, Pa. Confederate Soldier in Bronze, with flag, 14 ft. Granite pedestal carved with names of Confederate States. Over-all height 20 ft. Dedicated to the Army and Navy of the Confederacy.
