Images were contracted by the NPS Office of the Chief Information Officer as part of a larger project to add images of all Civil War monuments to the NPS Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System
South Inscription
U.S. National Park Service
27' x 27' x 14' overall monument is on platform reached by 11 steps and backed by a Doric colonnade, all of red Texas granite. On platform is a 20" x 24" x 84" bronze soldier with a rifle perched on a cannon barrel. Live yucca plants.
