LIBI_00019_00290; This item is an original albumen photograph of General George A. Custer and his sister, Margaret C. Calhoun, in costume. The photograph is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" (5 x 8" mounted). As noted on page 121 of D. Mark Katz's book, the image was produced in 1875 by Orlando Scott Goff. Foxing evident on the upper right corner of the image. On the verso, the handwritten notation in pencil reads, "General Custer and his sister, Mrs. Maggie Calhoun wife of Capt. Calhoun, representing Quaker Peace Commissioners in tableaux at Fort Abraham Lincoln."Note: "Pkg 4" handwritten on the verso. Photograph reprinted in "The Custer Album" by Lawrence A.
