A'a Lava
A rounded, conical peak stands behind a jagged line of black rock and shrubs.
A'a lava (pronounced AH-ah), such as the Bandera lava flow, consists of sharp surfaces and blocky boulders. A'a forms when fast-flowing lava pushes already-cooled lava downstream.

A weathered, upside-down cone of black rock with one side missing viewed from above. A winding river of cracks travels down from the missing side of the cone. The entire landscape is dotted with trees, although the black rock ground persists through.
