Mr. George F. Emory, Superintendent
Gettysburg National Military Park
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
Dear Mr. Emory:
The Indiana Gettysburg Memorial Commission has approved a proposed monument to be erected in the Gettysburg National Military Park by Codori Memorials, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Mr. Codori will be in touch with you in respect to the drawing and will submit details thereof in the very near future.
The drawing designed by the art department of the Rock of Ages Corporation was unanimously approved by the members of the Indiana Commission. The monument is a striking design and unlike anything in the park. The members of the Commission were elated with the simplicity and grace displayed by the imagination of the artist.
We are most hopeful that the National Park Service will be inclined to approve the proposed design and in the event you have any questions, please feel free to contact us and if necessary, we will come to your office for any discussions or negotiations required in the approval.
[handwritten] Mr. Codori to provide proper rendition copy.
Respectfully yours,
GETTYSBURG MEMORIAL COMMISSION, STATE OF INDIANA
