A Japanese woman sits on a chair next to a large bronze urn against a plain backdrop. She wears a solid color kimono, haori [jacket] and geta [wooden sandals] with tabi. In her right hand she holds an unfurled umbrella. Portions of the floor, her clothing and her hair ornaments have been hand tinted in shades of blue, red and yellow.
