Back of a carte-de-visite. On the front is a portrait of a white-haired, clean-shaven man in three-quarter view to his right. Two buttonholes are evident on each of his lapels. Pink-tinted mount.
Inscription: "J.W. Bradbury" written in ink in cursive below image. Photographer stamp includes "A.W. Kimball / Augusta, / Maine." in an elaborate gilt-stamped design including camera.
Notes: C1875. In envelope labeled "Longfellow's Photographs of His Classmates Bowdoin College Class of 1825" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Dana in block print (envelope holds paper scrap possibly from envelope with "Classmates" in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow handwriting, "Henry W. Longfellow Guardia[n] / Cambridge"). Others in group date before 1878. It is possible some were collected at the 50th class reunion.
