"New York Nov 29 1852
R. P. Hunt Esq Dear Sir,
We have sent today 14 Babs Cotton which we think equally good with the last for which we paid 10 1/4 [cents] cash - This seems a favorable purchase - The market has a tendency downward - The writer of this sent you a letter from Boston in regards to the Cotton Mill, and trusts Mr Whiteman will at once go to Waterloo as we thinks it will give you great satisfaction to hear his opinions and suggestions upon which you will probably be able to act with more confidence. In the mean time we shall be glad to do any thing at this end to [promote?] your [illegible] & wishes - We have no doubt that the Mill can to [withstand?] loss, and if in good condition will profit, and therefore feel that"
