SCA President Lidia Soto-Harmon is cheered on as she places the final bag of soil on top of Sargent Mountain.
On August 18th, 2024. Lidia Soto-Harmon, the president and CEO of Student Conservation Association (SCA) visited Acadia National Park and participated in the weekly volunteer project of Save Our Summits. A program co-managed between the NPS, Friends of Acadia, and the Schoodic Institute with the goal of re-vegetating the top of Sargent Mountain and Penobscot Mountain by carrying 4,000 pounds of soil to the summits. The SCA president was joined by a crew of SCA participants from New York City and participants of Acadia's Youth Conservation Corps.
