"New York Dec. 11th 1852
R.P. Hunt Esq.
Dear Sir,
We have your favor of the 9th and 10th today. Shall [illegible] [your?] draft and send the funds on Monday. The inventory is received and we have sent it to Boston for any [illegible] they may have to make in regard to it, and will write to you. We sent you 16 bales cotton which will arrive before you want which will carry you through the next week. We will buy another lot in good time but as the market is falling and can only buy from week to week - We charged you with the 6 & 14 bales of cotton and shall credit you with the sale of 12 bales goods. We shall open an account with"

"Waterloo Cotton Goods" - This a/c we charged with the last 16 bales of Cotton and shall also charge it with the inventory when satisfied at Boston, and with all payments made and credit it with sales of goods - You had better draw all the drafts in your name, which on acceptance we shall charge to above a/c - The proceeds of the sums when we send them to you we shall charge to you and credit you with your account of disbursements. The various things ordered in your letter we will send immediately - Will write again on Monday - How long do you estimate the supply"

"of coal will last - we wish it distinctly understood as we have before written that it will be optional on our part to run the Mill in the manner proposed after the 1st of May 1853 - That is to say there will be no obligation on our part to do so. Yours truly Almy Patterson & Co"
