Mn erected to memory of Richard Kirkland to honor his compassion & caring for wounded soldiers of both combatting sides, & risking his own life to enter battlefield to care for wounded. Monument was designed by a nationally prominent sculptor. || Polished base, 3'2"x9'x5'6"H, with bronze statuary of Kirkland tending a wounded Federal soldier, 5'6"x8'4"x4'9"H.
