The Commission expects to be in a position to receive preliminary designs and bids in the month of September of this year. We have a target date of the summer of 1970 for the construction of the monument, assuming we can clear the necessary hurdles before that time. In accordance with our discussion, I am enclosing herewith a copy of the notes I have made in connection with my research on Indiana at Gettysburg.
