Prenanthes Alba (Rattlesnake-Root) in Billings-Kittredge Herbaria
Preserved biological specimen on paper.
Preserved Specimen On A3 Paper With A Printed Label Identifying It In The Bottom Right Corner. The Paper Is Mounted On A Larger Cardboard And Covered With Plastic Which Is Sealed To The Board. There Are Three Pieces On The Page, Although It Appears That They Were Once Attached To One Another. The First Sample Has A Section Of Roots With Its Dirt. They Lead To A Main Stem Which Has Only One Large Leaf At Its Apex. The Second Sample Is A Section Of Stem Which Has Been Cut At The Top And The Bottom. It Has A Few Leaves Attached, Which Are Smaller Than The One On The First Sample. The Back Of The Leaves Is A Different Color Than The Front. The Last Is Also A Main Stem, But Has Its Apex In Tact While The Bottom Is Cut Away. There Are Off Shoots And Groups Of Flowers/Seed Structures Extending From Various Points Along The Sample. The Samples Are All Overlaid So It Is Slightly Difficult To Distinguish Them.
The Samples Are Attached To The Page With Adhesive And Thin Strips Of White Cloth Tape.
