Monument contributes to nat'l significance of park under NR Criterion A because it represents the national movement among veterans & related groups to commemorate Civil War battlefields. || 5' x 3' x 10', the monument is a single curved-top block on a rectangular base. Front of block has relief sculpture of artilleryman with sponge and raised lettering above; rear has state seal. Marks unit's position east of Kelly Field.
