Florida spotted skunk (Spilogale putorius ambarvalis) is a sub species of the Eastern Spotted skunk and lives in the coastal strand scrub habitat. It is endemic to Florida. They live in burrows of their own making, other animals burrows such as gopher tortoise holes, or under man made structures. This spotted skunk walked up to a ranger. If they walk up to you do not scare them. Let them walk away from you.
