Gaultheria Hispidula (Creeping Snowberry) in Billings-Kittredge Herbaria
Preserved biological specimen on paper.
Preserved Specimen On A3 Paper With A Printed Label Identifying It In The Bottom Right Corner. The Paper Is Mounted On A Larger Cardboard And Covered With Plastic Which Is Sealed To The Board. There Are Two Samples. Both Are Long Thin Stems With Off Shoots, Which Are Very Vine-Like. There Are Small Round, Pointed Leaves Extending From Both The Stems And The Off Shoots At Alternate Points. The First Sample Was Collected On 7-24-21, And Appears To Have Two Seed Structures Attached To It. The Second Sample Also Has Roots Attached And A Colored Drawing Next To It Detailing The Leaves And What Appear To Be Flowers. There Is A Pencil Inscription On The Bottom Of The Backing Sheet, Which Reads 'Betnun Calluna Gaul [Illegible]Ssacia'.
The Sample Was Originally Identified As Chiogenes Hispidula, But More Recently The Genus Has Been Considered Part Of The Gaultheria Genus.
