From: Superintendent, Gettysburg
Subject: Proposed Indiana Memorial
The State of Indiana is requesting permission to erect an Indiana Memorial on the site approved by Mr. Palmer on May 29, 1969. Enclosed are the following in duplicate:
1. Request of the Indiana-Gettysburg Memorial Commission, Thurman M. DeMoss, Chairman, to erect the memorial.
2. Plans–3 sheets–for the erection of the memorial, including “specifications.”
3. Proposed text submitted by the Commission.
4. Recommended text as revised by Mr. Harrison.
The stone work will be prepared by the Rocky Ages Company, Barre, Vermont, and erected on the approved site by the Codori Memorials, Gettysburg. The latter firm has done a variety of work on monuments for the Park and is considered capable and reliable.
We recommend approval of the plans and also the “revised” text.
