Visitors holding wooden bars and walking around a winch.
Visitors holding capstan bars walk in a circle and turn the capstan during a shipboard demonstration. This capstan is on the Balclutha near the bow and is a winch-like device that was used to raise and lower the anchor. The anchor line would wind around the capstan.
