Shaw Memorial on the Bowling Green at Aspet, Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park

Aspet, Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park. Trustees of the Saint-Gaudens Memorial placed an original plaster cast of Saint-Gaudens's Shaw Memorial at the east end of the lawn in 1959. In 1997, the National Park Service and trustees entered in a collaborative agreement to re-cast the memorial in bronze. Despite a protective enclosure that had been erected around the original casting, exposure to the elements threatened its integrity.
