Visitors Were Invited at a Mount Rainier National Park Entrance to Participate at a Visitor Survey
This image captures the methodological approach used in the NPS Visitor Services Project (VSP). Visitor groups were greeted, briefly introduced to the purpose of the study, and asked to participate. If visitors agreed, an interview leasting approximately two minutes was used to determine group size, group type, and the age of the adult who would complete the questionnaire. This individual was then given a questionnaire and asked for his or her name, address, and telephone number in order to mail a reminder/thank you postcard. Visitor groups were asked to complete the questionnaire during or afte their visit, then return by mail. The results of the survey are reported at "Mount Rainier National Park Visitor Study: Summer 2000."
