Port broadside view. Information written on back of the print: "MARY DOLLAR ex German bark HANS at anchor off Sausalito Jan. 6, 1935. She was built at Port Glasgow 1904. 3102 tons - length 335.5 - beam 46.9 - depth 26.5. Jan 17, 1935 renamed TANGO." [CR]Newspaper clipping adhered to the back of the print from January 5, 1935: "Ships Buffeted. [CR]Here are the highlights of the storm: [CR]The 50-foot San Francisco fishing boat VIRGINIA III was driven on the rocks at Point Reyes. Her crew of four was rescued by Coast Guardsmen, who also succeeded in pulling the vessel free.[CR]The four-masted ship MARY DOLLAR found a safe haven from mountainous seas near Drakes' Bay and after drifting more than 30 hours. Coast Guardsmen were standing by to rescue the crew of eight men.[CR]Fears were expressed for the safety of the San Francisco owned steam schooner DAN F. HANLON, unreported after the line with which she was towing the MARY DOLLAR parted off Point Montara. Twenty-five men are aboard the schooner."[CR]G - Abe Marks 6/10/53.
