Vessel under construction at Matthew Turner's shipyard, Benicia, CA, 1901
Per note on the enclosure, the vessel is probably the SOLANO (built 1901; schooner, 4m).[CR][CR]Note on back of the print: Matthew Turner's yard. Launching schooner, probably SOLANO. (Break of fo'c'sle head of Turner 4 mast schooners ARIEL and M. TURNER are different than shown here. However no photograph of the fourth Turner built four mast schooner, ROSAMOND is currently (1960) available, so could possibly be that vessel. In any case either SOLANO or ROSAMOND.) Photograph is identical in hull details with existing photograph of SOLANO, built 1901.
