Note from M.A. Ransom: "Inception a ship on a drawing board, its building (oak hull, Calif.) followed by its many years of cruising in Alaska along Pacific Coast, escort of First World Flight 1924, carrying Federal Courts all over Alaskan Waters, association with the Alaska schooner fleet for many years - who knows what ending & I saw the beginning - watched her closely - for several years a crew member, took many pictures, of which these were the beginning, from the deck of the cutter UNALGA" (cutter; U.S. Coast Guard).
